JOSHUA TREE The allure of the desert is a strange one. When I first moved to California from France (where deserts aren't really our thing), and learned that people went for road trips and vacations through the deserts of California I just couldn't comprehend the appeal of such a trip. But my friends have a wonderful air- bnb in the area, and the bleak desert landscape always calls to me for photoshoots, so I started venturing to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs. As I did so, I slowly began to understand the amazing appeal of the des- ert. The morning quietude that is only broken by fanciful jack rabbits racing and fighting in the light blue morning light, the stillness that inhabits that time between noon and the sun setting. I crave that calm nowadays, so I wanted to share with you some of my personal favorite spots in Joshua Tree.

What to do: Go visit the first settlement of Joshua Tree at Key's Ranch and learn about the early settlers of the national park. Stop by Arch Rock and Skull Rock in Josh- ua Tree National Park. Sure to impress the whole family. While the rock formations are amazing, don't forget to take a stroll through the Cholla Cactus Garden in Joshua Tree Na- tional Park. It feels like you are walking on an alien planet. Knob Hill Ranch @knobhillranch has some amazing horseback trail rides that are sure to make you want to come back again and again!
